History of L’Année philologique
- 1928 : appearance of volume 1 of l'Année philologique, published by Jules Marouzeau to follow the two volumes of Dix années de bibliographie classique (1914-1924), which appeared in 1927-1928.
- 1929 : beginning of Juliette Ernst's collaboration with l'Année philologique.
- 1934 : J. Ernst becomes the sole editor of l'Année philologique.
- 1946 : J. Ernst is engaged as a "technical collaborator" (= ingénieur) by CNRS in order to edit l'Année philologique for publication.
- 1952 : assignment to l'Année philologique of a second CNRS technical collaborator. This person left CNRS in 1957 and was replaced by a different CNRS employee who retired in 1993.
- 1963 : J. Ernst replaces J. Marouzeau as director of l'Année philologique.
- 1965 : Engagement at l'Année philologique of a CNRS employee (ingénieur de recherche) to compensate for J. Ernst's retirement. This employee in turn retired in 2003.
- 1965 : Establishment at Chapel Hill, North Carolina (United States) of a branch office charged with covering the publications of the United States, Great Britain, Ireland, and the various countries comprising the Commonwealth (South Africa, Australia, Canada, New Zealand).
- 1968 : Engagement at the French office of an employee of CNRS (AJT). This employee resigned from CNRS in 1991.
- 1972 : Foundation at Heidelberg (Federal Republic of Germany) of a German branch office responsible for covering publications from Germany and Austria.
- 1976 : The French office becomes the ERA 644 (later, UMR 9907) of CNRS (affiliated university: Paris IV).
- 1977 : foundation at Lausanne (Switzerland) of a branch office responsible for handling Swiss publications.
- 1978 : engagement at the French office of an employee of CNRS (attaché de recherche agrégé, becoming ingénieur de recherche in 1980). This employee took retirement in April 2009.
- 1984 : half-time engagement at the French office of an employee of CNRS (CR). This employee left the office in 2000.
- 1987 : half-time engagement at the French office of an employee of CNRS (CR). This employee left the office in 2000.
- 1988 : engagement at the French office of a CNRS employee (IE) with a view to digitizing l'Année philologique. This employee left the team in 1991.
- 1992 : the French office becomes part of the UPR 76 of CNRS.
- 1993 : engagement at the French office of an employee of CNRS (IE).
- 1993 : Pierre-Paul Corsetti replaces J. Ernst as director of l'Année philologique.
- 1995 : foundation at Genoa (Italy) of an Italian branch office responsible for Italian publications.
- 1996 : engagement at the French office of an employee of CNRS (CR). This employee left the team in 2002.
- 1999 : engagement at the French office of an employee of CNRS (IR). This employee left the team in 2008.
- 2000 : foundation at Grenada (Spain) of the Spanish branch office, responsible for handling publications from the Iberian peninsula and Latin America.
- 2001 : engagement at the French office of an employee of CNRS (IR).
- 2002 : engagement at the French office of an employee of CNRS (IR).
